Titan Comics has been growing significantly over recent years, taking on and expanding new licenced titles as well as generating its own original concepts. And it looks like editorial is expanding as well. And they are hiring a new on-site Assistant Editor for their Southwark, London offices.

The UK's leading publisher of licensed TV, movie and gaming comics is looking for an Assistant Editor to join our growing portfolio of both originated and reprint comic titles.
You will be assisting one of our Editors with key launches and ongoing titles, and will also work closely with the wider Comics Department. In time you will have the opportunity to take on editorial responsibilities on titles as the role develops.
This role offers full involvement of the commissioning and editing of comic strips, prelims, editorials pages and covers, as well as proofing, subbing, and copywriting responsibilities on both originated and reprint titles. Other responsibilities include: producing lettering / balloon guides for comics; making amendments on the final files to a print standard; assisting the Editor in liaising with designers over editorial changes in in-design; selecting creative teams for sign off; and producing costings in liaison with the Production Department.
Candidates are expected to have previous experience of working on comics and an interest in and knowledge of sci-fi and genre publishing, TV, movies and gaming. You must have degree standard education or equivalent. Previous experience of working in a publishing environment and experience of working in comics publishing is highly desirable. Previous experience of desktop publishing software and working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator would be advantageous. You will also have proofreading skills, the ability to meet deadlines and be able to work under pressure.
