So How Does Loki Become Sorcerer Supreme For Marvel Legacy Anyway? (SPOILERS)
The promo for the Marvel Legacy not-a-relaunch for Doctor Strange, now by Donny Cates and Gabriel Walta, has seen Loki, somehow become Sorceror Supreme of the Marvel Universe with Doctor Strange #381. But how?
Apparently, that's not the question we're supposed to ask.
Promotion for the relaunch on Previewsworld has Donny Cates saying,
"there's also the whole "Loki is the new Sorcerer Supreme and is living in Stephen's house and wearing his clothes" thing…. The second issue of my run (Doctor Strange #382) has one of the craziest reveals in recent Marvel history… It's something I pitched when I first got to Marvel, and I was convinced as I pitched it that they would never in a million years let me get away with it."
"everyone keeps asking me how Loki became the Sorcerer Supreme, but the question people should be asking is, "Why?" That's the big question of the whole run."
Well, that's in Donny's opinion. But what about that "how"? Well, I don't have the specific details. But I understand that the position is something Loki won from Doctor Strange in some form of competition. A tournament. And Dr Strange handed over the deed to the role to Loki of his own free will. And returning to medical practice…
I do hope we won't discover Loki cheated.
