Simone and Baldeon's Domino Relaunched as Domino: Hotshots Mini-Series in March

Earlier today, we reported on superstar writer Gail Simone's Twitter teaser for a new project called Hotshots. And it's a good thing we did it then, because if we had waited, we wouldn't have only been able to get one article out of it instead of two, because Marvel has just answered Simone's question and revealed who the Hotshots are.

They're the regular cast of Domino, the titular Domino, Outlaw, and Diamondback, plus new members Black Widow, White Fox, and Atlas Bear. And it looks like the Domino ongoing will be relaunched as a mini-series, called Domino: Hotshots, in March, as both Simone and Domino artist David Baldeon are working on this, though we suppose it's possible Baldeon has been cloned and can draw two monthly comics.

We're glad to see Domino get a bigger spotlight and some cool guest stars… but what happens after issue #5?

It took about two seconds for me to say, 'I'm IN, I AM SO IN.'"

"Is it just me or is it getting hot in here? Marvel's greatest femmes fatale assembled for a very specific mission (if they don't kill each other first, natch!)," added series editor Chris Robinson. "After launching DOMINO to huge acclaim earlier this year, I'm absolutely thrilled to have Gail and David bringing the HOTSHOTS into the Marvel Universe (and our hearts!)"

"Domino feels she has to grow up a little, and some of the new agents have virtually NO sense of humor. And they find an object that is something very close to the heart of the entire Marvel Universe," said Simone. "The only problem is EVERYBODY wants it. We're having a blast. It's Domino, but with a bunch of the coolest characters in comics, kicking international covert butt and taking names. Best of all, it's drawn by the incredible David Baldeon.
