A Whedonverse Crossover In Today's Buffy The Vampire Slayer #1 (Spoilers)

Today sees the publication of a brand new Buffy The Vampire Slayer comic book from Boom Studios. It reboots the franchise into the twenty-first century and gives us an initial Scooby gang with a Willow who was much more together right from the beginning.

And, it turns out, was always 'out' as a lesbian. And who also wears lipstick and is a little more body-confident from the get-go.

And which not only has an Anya dealing with a certain LA law firm Wolfram & Hart, which was introduced in the Buffy spinoff series Angel… and in opposition to the school library, we have a Sunnydale magical bookshop run by a certain Anya.

Who has a penchant for watching episodes of Firefly. Is this the closest we'll get to a Whedonverse crossover between the franchises? Boom is now publishing Firefly and Buffy comic books after all.
