Universal Drops Terrifying Trailer for New Horror Flick, "Cats"

So, this is a thing. Remember yesterday when we warned that Cats might be a bit terrifying? Well, Universal Pictures decided to drop the trailer and boy is it something. It's really something and it's a movie we're going to be talking about for better or for worse.

It takes a lot to distract the internet during Comic-Con weekend and if you asked us yesterday if this was the right weekend to release this trailer we would have told you no. Yet here we are, day one of SDCC, and all anyone can talk about is how terrifying the trailer for this movie is.

Is Cats going to be a hot mess? It sure looks like and director Tom Hooper doesn't have the best track record. We're all sitting here on the internet talking about it so mission accomplished Universal Pictures. Even if half the audience shows up just to see how terrifying this movie is going to be they're still buying the ticket.

Or maybe it'll work. Weirder things have certainly happened.

Summary: A tribe of cats called the Jellicles must decide yearly which one will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new Jellicle life.

Cats, directed by Tom Hooper, stars James Corden, Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson, and Francesca Hayward. It will be released on December 20th.
