Loot Crate Adds Riverdale and X-Men to September Back-To-School Crates – But Will You Take The Chance?
Bleeding Cool has already covered the announcement that Loot Crate, the most popular of the geek demographic subscription box publishers has gone into chapter 11 bankruptcy, bought out by a new company created for the purpose, after firing over half their staff without notice, with some reporting that their cheques have bounced.
Nevertheless, Loot Crate is announcing a new set of crates of September with a Back To School theme. With licensed exclusive items from Napoleon Dynamite, Riverdale and X-Men in the standard crate,
With Napoleon Dynamite and Riverdale items in the premium Schooled DX crate.
No idea what, or if they involve actual comic book items. It may be worth noting that IDW is launching a new Napoleon Dynamite comic book in October. Could we get an early issue? Or, considering, this is Loot Crate, a late one after the entire series has finished sometime in 2020?
It is also worth noting that those people trying to get refunds from Loot Crate have been told that the company is currently not allowed to give them, as part of their Chapter 11 reorganisation, So if you do take a chance, make sure you pay with your credit card, it makes it easier to reverse charges if Loot Crate does indeed fail to follow through. Though, given their timeliness of late you may wonder just which year these will be back-to-school items for?
