Marvel Comics Adds More Pages to A Bunch of Collections – And Switches Some Around
We knew that the Marvel Comics series Champions was being cancelled with issue 10. We've also suggested that we may see a Young Avengers revival that may find a home for some of the characters. One of the original tip-offs was that the second collection only contained issue 7 to 10, a rather abrupt listing. Marvel has now decided to add the first issue 2015's Nova series to help bump the page numbers.
But Marvel Comics is bumping a number of page counts for collections, adding new content, or switching some around – also without putting the prices up.
The Absolute Carnage: Lethal Protectors TPB was solicited as collecting Absolute Carnage: Lethal Protectors #1-3 and Absolute Carnage: Avengers #1. It will now also contain the Absolute Carnage end pages from Invaders #7, Avengers #22, Fantastic Four #11 and Venom #15. It is not known whether the standard collections of those issues will contain those final pages or not.
Absolute Carnage Vs. Deadpool TPB was solicited as collecting Absolute Carnage Vs. Deadpool #1-3, Absolute Carnage: Captain Marvel #1. It will now also contain the Absolute Carnage end pages from Captain Marvel #8, Amazing Spider-Man #24, Deadpool#14, and Black Cat #2.
Absolute Carnage: Immortal Hulk & Other Tales TPB was solicited as collecting Absolute Carnage: Immortal Hulk #1, Absolute Carnage: Symbiote Spider-Man #1, Absolute Carnage: Symbiote of Vengeance #1. It will now also contain the Absolute Carnage end pages from Symbiote Spider-Man #3 and Immortal Hulk #20.
Fantastic Four Grand Design TPB was solicited as collecting Fantastic Four: Grand Design #1-2 and the original Fantastic Four #1 – that has now been altered to Fantastic Four #51.
War of the Realms: The Punisher TPB was solicited as collecting War of the Realms: The Punisher 1-3 and relevant pages from War of the Realms: War Scrolls 3. It now adds the Punisher Kill Krew Story story from War of the Realms Omega #1 as well.
And the Hulk: Incredible Origins TPB which originally collected Hulk: Season One from 2012 and the first of the Jason Aaron/Marc Silvestri Hulk #1 has had that additional issue amended to be the Al Ewing/Joe Bennett Immortal Hulk #1 from last year.
Although not every title is gaining – the planned Oz Complete Collection Vol 1: Wonderful Marvelous Land, out in November in comic stores but January in bookstores, is now becoming less complete, as it will no longer contain the Wonderful Wizard of Oz Sketchbook.
