As Marvel Confirms Terrigen Mist Kills Mutants, Could Ms Marvel Foreshadow What's To Come?

In this week's Ms Marvel, we got some very Inhuman shenanigans. Kamala Khan's brother Aamir getting does with the same kind of Terrigen Mists that triggered Ms Marvel's Inhuman abilities.

Except that doesn't quite happen.

It triggers something…

…but not in the same way. And makes him sick in the process.

You know, we did have that story that Terrigen mists were going to make the mutants of the Earth sick so that they, apart from a select few who could survive the mists, would have to go off planet. But much has changed in the X-Universe since then.

But could this event be a foreshadowing of something similar? Is Aamir a latent mutant? There's certainly a lot of green mist around… and in an interview with IGN, Jeff Lemire, lead X-Men writer, says,

Sinister will be only ONE of the threats the X-Men will be facing in the first arc. He was a natural fit for this arc. His fascination with genetics in particular made him a perfect for an X-Men team that is facing extinction and being threatened by Terrigen Mist.

Well that's one tick in the box…
