And there would come a week where none of the digital comixology sales charts would name random romantic manga comics as the top sellers in error, and we would look upon those charts and say, "It is good." Or "It's clobbering time" I guess. Something more comic book-y. Anyhoo. This week the undisputed winner is AvX: Consequences #4 taking the number one spot in Great Britain, U.S.A., France, Italy, Brazil, Ireland, Sweden and Norway, proving that just because the fighting has stopped doesn't mean we can't stop making people feel bad about it. Cyclops. Ah-hem. (Cyclops was right). Meanwhile miniature Batmen make strange bedfellows as Australia, Japan & Israel go batty (oof.) for Lil' Batman #1. The Walking Dead #103 takes the top slot in Spain proving that just like happy hour, The Walking Dead is always #1 on a sales chart somewhere. Batman: The Dark Knight#8 curiously is in first place in China, I say curious only because of Batman's flagrant disregard for Chinese extradition law in the film that bears the comics name. India gives the week to Before Watchmen: Minutemen #4 and this is a week that has issues of Alan Moore's original series charting as well, but unfortunately not together. Although truth be told, Before Watchmen and Watchmen sharing space on a sales chart simultaneously might be enough to move the minute hand on the doomsday clock. Russia who's always loving the folk & fairy tales gives it up to Robyn Hood #2 while Greece get's their vamping on with 30 Days of Night #2. And God bless you Germany for giving the best digital comixology sales to Masters of the Universe: The Origin Of Skeletor #1 because that is a weird, cool book and I'm glad people somewhere are appreciating it.
The one IMAGE book that breaks the top 10 in England is Happy while the one IMAGE book that breaks the top 10 in America is The Walking Dead. Read into that as you like. Chris Roberson take a bow, you made it onto the charts in Japan with Edison Rex a definite victory for Chris and the Monkeybrain gang. Brazil likes Captain Marvel and India likes Star Trek and I like living in a future where I get to say things like that.
