David F. Walker Wants to See More Comics Prematurely Cancelled in 2018
New Year's resolutions are a funny thing. We all put a lot of hopes and dreams into what we want to accomplish and what we want to see in the new year, only to end up disappointed when life gives us more Donald Trump or mediocre Justice League movies. Well, writer David F. Walker has a new plan: he's gonna reverse psychology the @#$% out of 2018.
"For 2018, I want to see more remakes, reboots, and sequels," Walker posted on Twitter. "Definitely want to see more movies turned into TV shows."
"I also want to see more comic book series canceled prematurely," Walker continued. Walker and Nelson Blake's Luke Cage was one of a bevy of books canceled by Marvel at the end of 2017, many of which starred POC or LGBTQ leads. Walker also took a swipe at the state of criticism, saying, "And less critical/intelligent analysis on everything would be cool."
We're pretty sure he's being facetious, but we have a feeling that 2018 will be more than happy to oblige on all of those requests. But at least Walker has set himself up nicely to be pleasantly surprised if 2018 provides even a modicum of relief over 2017's hellish misery.
