DC Comics Reprints Brian Michael Bendis's First Batman Story from 2000 in Pearl #1

I had heard, during San Diego Comic-Con, that there was some disquiet about sales order numbers for Brian Michael Bendis's first original work for DC Comics, Pearl, with his Jessica Jones partner Michael Gaydos.

Well, this may be just what the comic needs to help its launch.

It will now include a reprint of Bendis and Gaydos's eight-page story from Batman Chronicles #21, Citizen Wayne, originally published in 2000 before Brian went all Marvel exclusive.

And look, Final Order Cut-off for retailers is today. How handy…

PEARL #1 (OF 6) (MR)

PEARL is a major series launch from writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos that features their first brand-new original character since Jessica Jones. Fans of the Jessica Jones comic and TV show will be thrilled and delighted by this bold new direction the creative team has taken. In Shops: Aug 15, 2018
