Detective Comics #5 Tops 100,000 In Sales, Scarecrow And Snakeskin To Come

At the beginning of 2011, I was rather down on Tony S Daniels as a creator. And then the DC Relaunch came along. And, as well as a Hawkman series lifted by rather impressive Philip Tan art, he also write and drew Detective Comics. Which opened with a blast, with the best cliffhanger of the year bar none, and kept going, the first issue hitting four printings. Naturally it's been a year Daniels won't forget easily. Along with a new Batman commission in a Michael Zulli-ish style, he writes on Facebook;

2011 was a year full of very hard work. Some trials and tribulations but the successes were worth it all. Detective Comics #1 went into its fourth printing (without the aid of a variant cover), and issue 5 surpassed 100k and is actually still gaining sales. What makes me feel even better is that the stories and art will only be getting better in the arcs ahead. 2012 will bring a new take on Scarecrow into the mix, a new villain named Snakeskin, revelations about Charlotte, Hugh Marder's hidden agenda, and of course some answers surrounding the Joker and his motives. Thank you for making 2011 my biggest ever in my career. I am very appreciative of my fan base and I'm always working to 1-up myself each month for you folks. Thanks and I look forward to dedicating myself 100% to Detective Comics and to you.
