Gossip: The Future for Weapon Plus and Weapon X

Bleeding Cool mentioned that the Weapon Plus one-shot from a month or so ago promised a follow-up, Weapons Free. It seems we will getting more than that.

Yes, there will be another Weapon Plus book in December of January from Marvel that, yes, will see Brute Force as Weapon II. But as well as that second one-shot I am told to expect a new Weapon X series in early 2020, looking at the many Weapons from the project that birthed Wolverine, Deadpool and Captain America over the decades.

However, the idea of having Isaiah Bradley as one of the Weapon Plus, the black Captain America as established in previous stories, will not be present due to what are described as 'legal issues'.

The series Truth: Red White And Black that debuted the life of Isaiah Bradley by the late Robert Morales and Kyle Baker in 2003 has been the subject of much speculation and guesswork as to why Marvel no longer keep the book in print or use the central character. But whatever deal was done for the original publication, may be at issue now. And no no more Isaiah Bradley – or his grandson Eli Bradley, the Patriot from Young Avengers.

This is also the reason we have a new Patriot, Rayshaun Lucas, now…
