Image Comics Continues to Make Hit-Girl and Kick-Ass Returnable
Image Comics continues to make Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl returnable if retailers order as many of each issue as they did of the previous one.
It might not sound like much. But the standard trope for a comic book retailer is to order less of a comic than they did of the previous issue, in the belief that it is likely to have lost a reader or two, and less likely to have gained one. Comics that buck that trend are considered quite remarkable and diamonds in the rough. And generally either written by Matt Fraction or Tom King.
Anyway, Kick-Ass #4 will be returnable to any retailer who orders as much as they did of Kick-Ass #3. Kick-Ass #5 will be returnable to any retailer who orders as much as they did of Kick-Ass #4. And Kick-Ass #6 will be returnable to any retailer who orders as much as they did of Kick-Ass #5.
And Hit-Girl #4 will be returnable to any retailer who orders as much as they did of Hit-Girl #3. Hit-Girl #5 will be returnable to any retailer who orders as much as they did of Hit-Girl #4. And Hit-Girl #6 will be returnable to any retailer who orders as much as they did of Hit-Girl #5.
Which might encourage retailers to keep the orders up. And ensure that anyone who bought a previous issue of either comic should be able to find the next issue in their local comic shop.
If they want it, that is. But it will be there…
