And this is what they had to say

Great week in comics! Grayson & Spider-man 2099 were both big sellers for new #1 issues this week. People were very interested in both books. Spread #1 had some good hype behind it and it sold like crazy. We saw more people add that book to their pull lists than any other. The Life After #1 also had a great first weeks sales. Marvels confusing Original Sin/SINS/5.2309834739803984.03894883 books sold okay, but mostly were just a point of conversation among customers about how they STILL have no idea what the hell the POINT WHATEVER numbers are supposed to mean. Heard from more than one person that they feel like Marvel is just trying to confuse readers into buying their event books.

Tons of people coming in for Southern Bastards, Trees and Outcast issues. These books have some great hype around them right now.

Big week for Grayson. Went really big on it and added in the Batman 75 Var and still sold out Thursday. Same with New Suicide Squad. Could Jokers Daughter have been the missing piece?

Not too much interest in the secret history of Angela. The 100th Anniversary books got really complicated when the Spider-Man one starts as "Part 8 of 8". Hard to explain the concept instead of them just being fun one shots.
Batman Eternal is losing no steam, while Futures End is starting to see drops as people are done waiting for interesting things to happen.

Marvel is in danger of once again killing Deadpool's sales by having too much out there. An ongoing does great. An occasional mini does ok. But now its an ongoing, back to back mini-series (vs Carnage & X-Force coming out a week apart) and then throwing in the paper copy of the digital Dracula story at the same time. Sales dropping across the board, again. Same thing happened when they had Team-Up and Corps and the regular series. Deadpool fans don't get them all and then stop getting any.

Spider-Man 2099 #1 was the clear winner this week, however i was kinda shocked that Grayson did so well the first week. I thought that it would take a full month to sell out, but it might run dry by the end of the weekend. The New Suicide Squad also over performed since I had to re-order another 50 copies to keep up with demand.

On the back-issue front I have noticed that most people are picking up books for SDCC. Planning ahead to see what they should have for signings or to get graded while down at the convention.

The hot streak of sales have slowed. Hopefully just due to people being out of town for vacations with summer here. Batman Eternal is still tops. Grayson's first issue is a hit. Sold a lot more than we did of his Nightwing series this year. Spiderman 2099 1 is a also a hit. Though another store sold out the day it came out and drove up our sales. Walking Dead is still the series that gets new non comic readers into the store to check out comics.

Superman back issues starting to see some movement thanks to a certain rumor that Doomsday might be in the next movie. Amazing Spiderman's first series is a back issue favorite.

Grayson I expected would be a big hit but Spider-Man 2099 was a little surprising. We sold the same amount of each giving them a tie for the top spot of the week.
