Saturday Trending Topics: We Have Entered The SDCC ZoneIt's that time of year when the trajectory of a large portion of the comic news drifting across the internet is warped by the massive gravitational pull of San Diego Comic-Con.  Con comic & merch debuts are already being announced. Some companies are trying to (sometimes unsuccessfully) hold back major announcements for the show. Other companies are trying to get out in front with their announcements.  Industry staffers are doing those round-the-clock shifts to make sure those major announcements are ready to announce.  And speaking of that, I gotta cut this short…

Coen Bros. New Film Is Not Just Full Of Music, It's Also A Biopic

The subject of the film seems to be Dave Van Ronk, a folk singer about whom I know relatively little, and everything I do know, I learned from BBC documentaries in which he was one of many players. According to the 24 Frames column of The LA Times, the Coens are deriving some of the material for their film from The Mayor of MacDougall street, Van Ronk's posthumous memoir.
