Video: Will Warner Keep Publishing Comics?

viewGordon Crawford is the managing director of The Capital Group, who own 8% of Time Warner. In an address to the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication as part of a discussion entitled The Art of The Long View, he stated that he believes that Warner will sell off their Time Inc. publishing division, saying "they're just going to be Warner Brothers, HBO and the Turner Networks."

It was exiting President/Publisher of DC Comics, Paul Levitz who is credited with negotiating DC's place within Warner outside of the Time publishing division. It currently operates more as a research and development for the media congolomerate, something that Warner seem to be concentrating on with the emergence of DC Entertainment.

Neverthess, this kind of comment from a major shareholder in the company could be problematic, especially at this time of flux for DC Comics.

The whole conversation has been placed on YouTube.
