Taking A Hallucinatory Sniff Of Today's Harley Quinn Annual

Image (64)The comic may call it Cannbisylocibe =7-A, but in the UK I can confirm that it smells like pine, as the Christmas Tree symbol on the cover of the International version of Harley Quinn Annual #1 indicates. And here, to prove it, is a Vine Pine.

I also downloaded the digital version from ComiXology, as they promised a different experience for digital readers.

If you like to read your comics digitally, however, the writers are looking out for you — Conner promises interactivity and a different experience from the print version.

"We wanted to make sure there was something extra for the digital people. Obviously you can't smell your iPad," Palmiotti says.

"Well, you can if you want," Conner replies.

But…not that I can see. Just an apology that this was intended for print readers…

UPDATE: There is meant to be a "DC2" version made available, which suggests a digitally innovative copy. Just… not that I can see yet, Anyone?

However, is it possible that Harley Quinn Annual, despite being polybagged to protect against stray smells, may be having an effect on other comics on the rack?

Firstly Batman Eternal and Alfred Pennyworth…

Then the pandas in the final issue of Thunderbolts. At least I think they're pandas.

While Harley Quinn makes me hallucinate that Stjepan Sejic, famed of a variety of hardcore female BDSM comic books is drawing a scene in the annual.

Other guest artists include Joe Quinones, Ben Caldwell and Kelley Jones… that's unless the effects of the pine are leading me astray.
