Things to Do in Brighton This Weekend If You Like Comics – Caption 2017
The longest running comic book convention in Britain is Caption. It used to be in Oxford, then it was sent to Coventry, now it's in Brighton, and it's kicking off tonight.
And it really has been running an age as tonight it celebrates its 25th anniversary with an evening event as part of the annual Graphic Brighton event this Winter.
So tonight there'll be a panel discussion of music and comics with DJ Food and cartoonist The Surreal McCoy, a 'lightning talks' series of presentations by comic creators including Rachel Ball, Tom Cleary, Ottilie Hainsworth, Jaime Huxtable, Daniel Locke, Michi Mathias and Myfanwy Nixon, a discussion of classic girls' comics with Hannah Berry, Hannah Eaton and Jenni Scott, plus the Caption small press table selling comics by local creators.
It starts from 6pm at Phoenix Brighton, 10-14 Waterloo Pl, Brighton BN2 9NB – FREE but £2 donation welcome!
Here's the full weekend schedule for anyone who wants to brave the cold…
