All 3 Ultimate Comics Stores in North Carolina Robbed in One Night
In what is looking like a systematically planned action, all three Ultimate Comics stores in North Carolina were broken into and burgled last night. Over $20,000 worth of comic books, toys, and merchandise were stolen, glass display cases smashed, and the store's windows were broken for entry.
Luckily, no one was hurt. The stores themselves are boarded up, being cleaned, and will be open today.
But the stores are appealing for anyone with information on this organised crime to contact owner Alan Gill at alan@nccomicon.com. Anonymous tips can be left here. Here's a security shot of one of the suspects.
Ultimate Comics is also appealing to customers old and new to consider clearing their pull file, picking up an extra comic book or two, or buy that gift they've been putting off. They also have a Batman #50 store exclusive by Nick Derington that can be pre-ordered online here.
They are also asking press, comic pros and fellow stores to help get the word out at this very difficult time for the chain. Social media works…
And yes, all three stores robbed in one night across the state — it does sound like something out of a comic book.
