Want To Be a DC Inking Assistant In San Fernando Valley?

DC COMIC BOOK ARTIST SEEKING INKING ASSISTANTS (San Fernando Valley)

Are you a talented artist looking to gain experience in the comic book field? If sothese are 2 great entry level positions where you can learn what goes into producing a monthly comic book.

I'm a professional with 20 years experience in the field and 15 years experience training other artists. I have worked for most major publishers on titles ranging from Uncanny X-men to Batman to Star Wars plus many others. My most important goal is the creation of exceptional artwork for use in monthly comics.

1)The first Assisting Position is one that is open to most artists even if you have no prior comic book experience. This is a good starting point for anyone wanting to learn more traditional inking methods who have no previous experience. You will be introduced to the tools and methods and instructed in their proper use. If you apply yourself you may be eligible to move onto the more

experienced Assistant position at a future time. I'm willing to work around schedules for work and school.

Requirements:

Ability to work quickly, independently and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Some art school or professional art experience. However if you believe you have the skills and I can see them in your samples you'll still be considered.

Must be in L.A. county and have own car.

Must be over 18

Responsibilities:

To assist me in completing pages by spotting blacks and inking borders.

Be willing to do work on own time to hone skills with tools and methods, samples to work on will be provided.

Will need to purchase supplies, materials list will be provided.

In order to be considered please provide:

A cover letter telling me about yourself.

A current resume detailing work history in art, school, awards, etc..

Include 5-8 samples of your work or a link to where I may view your it.

2) Advanced Assisting Position: This position is open to artists with experience using traditional inking tools such as

Windsor and Newton series 7 brushes, croquill pen nibs ( hunt 102 or 107 for example) and radiograph technical pens. None of

this work is done on computer. You will receive further instruction in use of materials and application of methods. Must possess

basic skills and abilities with some of these tools to be considered for position. I'm willing to work around schedules for work and school.

Requirements:

Able to follow instruction.

Some art school or professional art experience. However if you believe you have the skills and I can see them in your samples you'll still be considered.
