Best Friends Join AEW for Double or Nothing as Lucha Brothers Attack Young Bucks
It's been a big night in Las Vegas so far at All Elite Wrestling's Double or Nothing rally. We've seen Sonny Kiss announce his intentions, Cody Rhodes announce a partnership with AAA, and Hangman Page and Pac booked as the first official match at Double or Nothing in May.
Next up, co-founders the Young Bucks hit the stage and talked about their journey from being wrestling fans as kids to being known around the world as one of the best tag teams of all time, though the crowd chanted that they were actually number one. Noting that it's lonely at the top, Matt Jackson said that he and his brother Nick have noticed tag team wrestling becoming a lost art, taking a few shots at WWE, before saying that's all about to change. The crowd chanted for the revival.
"Our main objective is to give you fans the best tag team division in the world," Matt said as the crowd thanked them with a chant. Nick then asked the crowd if tag team wrestling can be the main event and announced a new signing: the Best Friends. Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta took the stage poolside to reaffirm their friendship and tell the crowd they've been looking for the best tag team division on Earth, and that's right here in All Elite Wrestling.
After the Best Friends left the stage, the recently signed Lucha Brothers came out, proving AEW isn't messing around about this best tag team division thing.
Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix decided that actions speak louder than words, taking out their new bosses.
Fenix said that it's actually the Lucha Brothers who are the best tag team in the world before Pentagon took the mic to address the crowd in Spanish.
Will The Bucks and the Lucha Brothers headline Double or Nothing? We'll have to wait and see.
Double or Nothing will take place on May 25th. Tickets go on sale to the general public on February 12th, but if you head to AllEliteWrestling.com now, you can sign up to receive a pre-sale code by email on February 11th.
Tonight's press conference is AEW's second big event after the rally the held in Florida earlier this year. There, the company announced several major signings, including Chris Jericho, PAC, Britt Baker, Joey Janella and Penelope Ford, and Hangman Page. Since then, Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. have also joined the new promotion, and tonight's rally promises even more big surprises. Follow along with Bleeding Cool as we'll be bringing you breaking news from the event as it happens.
