Echo Official Clip: Kingpin Has One "Final Lesson" to Teach Maya

Kingpin teaches Maya a very brutal lesson in trust in this official clip from Marvel Studios' Alaqua Cox & Vincent D’Onofrio-starring Echo.

With only hours to go until Marvel Studios' Alaqua Cox & Vincent D'Onofrio-starring five-episode Echo hits our screens (and Bleeding Cool's "first impressions" review goes live), we've got one final preview clip to pass along. And if you're going to run a final clip, then what better one to run than one titled "Final Lesson." In the scene below, Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin (D'Onofrio), teaches Maya Lopez, aka Echo, a very brutal lesson on who she can – and can't – trust moving forward.

Echo: Winderbaum on Netflix's "Daredevil" Part of MCU Sacred Timeline

"I can say that up until this point, we've been a little bit cagey about what's Sacred Timeline, what's not Sacred Timeline. That was born of, frankly, a period at the studio where we were like, 'We have to stick the landing with the vendors.' It was another part of the company developing the Netflix stuff. We were aware of what they were doing, they were aware of what we were doing, but there was a lot to balance anyway," Winderbaum shared with ScreenRant. "But now that some time has passed, now that we see actually how well integrated the stories are, I think that I personally, Brad Winderbaum, would be confident in saying it is part of the Sacred Timeline."

We have a feeling that Winderbaum may have answered one question – and opened the door to two dozen more. Here's a look at a clip from the interview:

Joining Cox and D'Onofrio for the five-episode streaming series are Chaske Spencer (Wild Indian, The English), Graham Greene (1883, Goliath), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon, Stumptown), Devery Jacobs (FX's Reservation Dogs, American Gods), Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds, FX's Reservation Dogs), and Cody Lightning (Hey, Viktor! Four Sheets to the Wind). Now, here's a look at the teaser that was released this past weekend, followed by a look back at the series overview & official trailer – with Marvel Studios' Echo hitting Disney+ & Hulu screens on January 9th at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET:

Streaming exclusively on Disney, the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.

Episodes of the series are directed by Sydney Freeland (Navajo) and Catriona McKenzie (Gunaikurnai). Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Victoria Alonso, Richie Palmer, Jason Gavin (Blackfeet), Marion Dayre, and Sydney Freeland – with Jennifer L. Booth and Amy Rardin co-executive-producing.
