Peacock and WWE have come together to announce a brand-new documentary premiering this month: The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels. A bit of a surprise considering how involved the wrestling company is with Netflix these days that a doc would appear on a rival streaming service, but it appears the company is making new content for both platforms. This new documentary appears to be a mashup of content and topics about Michaels' life from previous WWE docs, updated with new interviews and a look at the current work he does as the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative with NXT in Orlando, Florida.

It'll be interesting to see what new territory they cover, as the company did three different documentaries on him in the past for various subjects when they were cranking out DVDs and making content for the WWE Network. We have brief details about the documentary from the company below, as it will premiere on Peacock starting Monday, April 13, 2026.

Peacock's latest original documentary, in partnership with WWE, features exclusive behind-the-scenes access with one of the greatest performers of all time and chronicles the career of the WWE Hall of Famer. This intimate look at Michaels spotlights his incredible ability and the personal struggles that led to one of the most improbable redemption stories in WWE history. Viewers will be taken on a journey through his life while also getting an inside look at Michaels' role as the head of WWE's developmental brand, NXT.

The documentary features commentary from several Hall of Famers, including WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque, The Undertaker, Kevin Nash, and Bret Hart, as well as WWE Superstars Trick Williams and Je'Von Evans. Additional interviews include NXT Superstars Joe Hendry, Ethan Page, Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, and Shawn Spears. The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels is executive produced by Paul Levesque, Lee Fitting, and Ben Houser, produced by WWE, and directed by Matt Braine.
