The Sisterhood Of Supergirl At C2E2

It was standing room only in S406 at the McCormack Place on Saturday afternoon for the panel of the CBS hit series, Supergirl.  Melissa Benoist (Kara/Supergirl) was joined by fellow actress Chyler Leigh (Alex, Kara's sister) on stage.  It was obvious throughout the panel how close Melissa and Chyler have grown over the course of filming the show.  They were very genuine and appeared to be good friends, like the sisters on the show.

The moderator asked very good questions for the first half of the panel, including whether Supergirl's biggest priority is her personal relationships or saving the world.  Melissa shared that Auditions were a 3 month process, and after her 6th callback she said "Maybe I should start reading the comics ".  She started with the New 52 and went from there.

Melissa and Chyler both praised the show for having 3 strong female characters. Melissa loves seeing little girls dressed up like Supergirl. Supergirl greets life with joy and optimism, which is something this world needs.  Chyler says Kara has a wonderful heart and is so kind and inclusive of others around her.

The panel was opened up to questions about halfway through, many of which elicited laughs from the guests and cheers from the crowd.  Chyler in particular is very fond of Batgirl, for example, which got rousing applause from the audience.  Overall, it was a wonderful panel with the two lovely ladies of the silver screen
