Toys!Toys!Toys! At C2E2 by Greg Baldino

Greg Baldino continues to report for Bleeding Cool from the floor of C2E2.

Toys!Toys!Toys! At C2E2 by Greg BaldinoComics aren't the only things on sale at C2E2. There's been a number of toy vendors on the floor including Rotofugi, a local purveyor of designer toys. They've got two new models premiering at C2E2, but if you miss out you can still get them at their Chicago store.

Also being demo'd for the press was Zibits, a line of small remote controlled toy robots by Senario. The toys will be debuting later this year at San Diego and will be available in major toy outlets in both the US and UK. If you live with a cat that like to sit on whatever you're trying to read, it's a great and easy way to keep the cat distracted while you peruse the latest pickup from your comic shop.

Several book publishers were also on hand, including YA fantasy publishers Random House; Quirk Books, home of the runaway hit Pride and Prejudice and Zombies; Automatic Pictures has a whole booth for Frank Beddor's Hatter M; and St. Martin's has a massive booth promoting Sherrilyn Kenyon's books and graphic novels.

Education was also on display at the con with booths for the Academy of Art University, the Illinois School of Art, and the Joe Kubert School. Dar! Creator Erika Moen also revelaed that she'll be teaching a comic-making class for young teens at PNCA in Portland Oregon this summer for kids 13-16.

Greg Baldino lives and writes in Chicago, where he watches over the local comics scene like a posthuman autocrat. His fiction and journalism has appeared in many publications internationally. He can be contacted at greg.baldino@gmail.com.
