Sandman Overture tells the story of how Sandman, Dream, Morpheus came to be trapped by a group of occultist, trying to capture Death.

In DC's New All Access webshow (embedded below), we see full lettered artwork from the new series, starting with the caption "It was a small planet called Earth", continuing…

…and letting us know about the other sentient lifeforms that shared out planet, and how the Endless appeared to them.
