My Little Pony To Get Feature Film
Hasbro has announced the second film in their new Allspark Pictures label and it's going to be My Little Pony. Allspark is Hasbro's new way of either funding or co-funding films based on their toy lines. The recently announced Jem and the Holograms was the first film to be part of the Allspark film slate.
MLP will be written by Joe Ballarini and Megan McCarthy, who produces and has written for the series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and straight-to-video My Little Pony: Equestria Girls films, will serve as co-executive producer on the movie.
This will have no affect on the deals for Transformers, G.I. Joe or any other film in the works such as the horror movie Ouija coming out later this month. Hasbro will continue their partnerships as is with Paramount, Sony, Etc with Allspark Pictures focusing on films that they can have a bit more control over.
