The Fake Clark Kent, Revealed In This Week's Action Comics
This week's Action Comics will reveal who the Fake Clark is.
The Fake Clark appeared as the Pre-52 Superman was taking over from the late New 52 Superman. It threw another spanner into the mix, having two Clark Kent/Supermen was one thing, having a further third Clark Kent just made things insane.
This Clark Kent stated that the previous New 52 Superman who had his secret identity leaked by Lois Lane was never actually Clark Kent but had been pretending to be Clark while Kent was in protective custody.
His life history was familiar to any Superman fan – except that it had no Superman in it. He was an adopted orphan by the Kents, and worked as a journalist on the Daily Planet.
And there was no New 52 Superman around to contradict this turn of events.
It was clearly bollocks, we'd seen too much that contradicted it as readers. And as the Pre 52 Lois Lane became the target of his creepiest of obsessions, Clark discovered that Pre 52 Superman and she were a couple with a son, Jonathan Kent. He left a photo album for them, showing a world without Jonathan, which then seemed to delete him from existence.
In the same issue we saw that someone obsessed with Superman escaped from Mr Oz's prison, which also held Red Robin, Doomsday and Prophecy.
And even though this is out of synch – this week's Action Comics reveals that the person in question is indeed the Fake Clark. Even though Fake Clark appeared before Doomsday was captured by Mr Oz.
Which means some time travel has been going on. Or something.
But yes, I can confirm that it is someone you should be very familiar with. Watch out for Fake Clark spoilers…
