Dawn Of X Sells Out Again! And Vampirella? Well Not Really… The Back Order List Strikes Again
Every week your Local Comic Book shop gets in the weekly assortment of comics, trades, posters, action figures, and other goodies from Diamond. Now some of these goodies sell our fast from your LCBS, so Tuesday and Wednesday LCBS retailers get on the phone (more often the computer) and let Diamond know they need more. Or sometimes they go to unpack those Diamond boxes and find items missing, or too damaged to sell (it does happen), retailers have to let Diamond know. However, the phrase no retailer likes to hear when they go to report those shortages, damages, or reorders is: "Sorry that item is on backorder", which means there are no more copies to send out from the Diamond warehouse.
So on the third week of November, and the week before Thanksgiving, what are some of the items that went to back order? And what are some that surprising didn't? (Note that the back order list is from the end of the day Wednesday and obviously as time goes on other comics will be on back order as soon as retailers place orders.)
This week only had two real sellouts, continuing the trend that Dawn of X sells. Excalibur #2 and Marauders #2 have gone to back order.
No second prints have been announced yet, but expect it soon… And with this trend the whole, collecting Dawn of X month by month seems like a good idea. Now the 2099 variant for Excalibur #2 is still available … but better act fast.
And one other comic was on back order, the final order cutoff cover for Vampirella #5 by Meghan Hetrick. It's a nice cover but all the other covers are in stock with Diamond and available for order.
Items that may be up on the back order block? Amazing Spider-Man #34, 2099 Alpha #1, and Fantastic Four 2099 #1 might go to back order for Marvel based on the 2099 storyline.
Absolute Carnage #5 might go to back order, with issues #1 through #4 all having multiple printings, but the crossover seems to have died down in demand, so we'll see…
The newest volume of Deadpool #1 though, lots of covers, very unlikely to be on back order.
Annihilation Scourge #1 also, lots of covers, not likely for them all to be on back order anytime soon.
And again, another week, and none of the DC acetate covers have gone to back order…
So if you are your LCBS and see any of these "back order titles" grab them if you want them, because Diamond won't be sending anymore 1st prints no matter how much your local retailer asks.
