When it comes to collecting Marvel action figures, there are some fascinating and incredible brands out there. Nowadays, there are plenty of options to choose from with Sentinel, Revoltech, and Mezco Toyz. However, there are two brands that have their own dedicated fandoms and are on two sides of the pricing spectrum with Marvel Legends and Hot Toys. Both of these offer fantastic Marvel character representations for beloved characters, but they surely cater to different types of collectors. We wanted to take the time to dive deeper into this toy versus toy concept, bypassing the noticeable price difference. For this toy clash, it will be Carnage vs. Carnage from Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which has a 1/6 scale Hot Toys release and the recent deluxe Marvel Legends figure.

Let us start out simply with Marvel Legends figures, which are known for their affordability and wide range of characters. These 6-inch figures are perfect for casual collectors who want to bring home their favorite heroes or villains or recreate comic book battles. Marvel Legends have really upped their game these past few years, and this Carnage is a release that showcases just that. Standing roughly 9" tall, this big bad comes to life right off the screen with an excellent array of accessories and some pretty great sculpting. Unlike the Hot Toys, he has nice ab-crunch articulation, which can allow for even more dynamic posing than its 16" Hot Toys counterpart. Hasbro did not hold back on accessories with this release either, as he gets attachable tendrils for his back, swappable heads, and symbiotic axe attachments. For $39.99, this figure is pretty wicked and will surely get the job done. It can easily fit on any shelf to enhance any Carnage Marvel Comics collection.

On the other hand, the Hot Toys figures are in a league of their own. This premium, 1/6 scale collectibles are aimed at serious collectors who appreciate hyper-realistic detail, and this Carnage captures just that. From meticulously crafted skin-textured bodies to lifelike, horrifying symbiote head sculpts Hot Toys captured the essence of this creature right off the screen. He is loaded with accessories, such as symbiote weapons and tendrils, and he even has a swappable head magnetic feature. However, this level of detail comes with a hefty price tag, with this deluxe version coming in at $515, making them more of a luxury item. This massive figure is loaded with next-level detail, but its articulation is nowhere near what Marvel Legends can do, and when fully equipped, he can become quite top-heavy. However, a figure like this just shows off the incredible craftsmanship that Hot Toys offers, making them the ultimate centerpiece for any collection.

Each of these figures has a life on its own and brings something special and fun to any fan-growing collection. Marvel Legends is the go-to for those who want to build a vast collection on a budget. If they want a simpler, more poseable figure, then these are what you want, and it will easily get the job done. They are perfect for any Marvel fan, whether you're new to comics and the movies or a seasoned collector. Hot Toys, on the other hand, is for those who seek ultimate realism and are willing to invest in it. These figures are the peak of collecting, and they solidify what it means to be a collectible with the deep and intricate details that have been sculpted into it. From movie collectors, seasoned collectors, dedicated enthusiasts, or even new collectors, these are the figures that take your collection to new bloody levels.
