Over $300 For Marvel's Northrup Grumman Comic NYCC Giveaway Comic On eBay

You may recall that at New York Comic Con, Marvel Comics caused a spot of bother for being involved with a promotional comic for Northrup Grumman being given away at the show. Arranged by the special projects division of Marvel away from the usual editorial procedures, when it was pointed out that getting into bed with a major defense contractor and arms manufacturer may not have the best optics for the company. When the right hand worked out what the left hand was doing, reaction was swift.

The digital copy of the comic was withdrawn from the site, the physical copies being given away were quickly boxed back up and the event on the Marvel showfloor stage was cancelled.

But that wasn't before many copies had been given away at New York Comic Con. Next stop… eBay!

Where copies have now sold for over $300 each (with 42 bids for that one.) That may be at peak but copies are still selling for around $200 each. Remember, these were given away for free.

The accompanying poster also given away for free has sold for up to $99.

You know, those withdrawn copies must still exist somewhere. Maybe if they sold them all at such prices they could fund America's military spending for the next few years?

The odds are that most copies picked up by people at the show will have been crumpled up, thrown away or just sitting around with the owners not knowing their true value. Which will make them rarer still!
