AMC's Preacher Season 3 Covers Today's DC Comics Inside and Out
It may be one of the more mature-viewers-only TV series. Certainly, Preacher is challenging very social norms with its portrayal of the descendants of Jesus that caused DC publisher Paul Levitz palpitations back in the day. And now doing the same to much of America. I'm sure that One Million Moms are composing a boycott letter as we speak. And AMC's ad campaign has leant into that kind of reaction, relishing in the controversy that the TV series is all but guaranteed to receive, beating One Million Moms and similar to the punch.
And even advertising the TV show on the inside cover and back covers of all the DC Comics titles published today. Something the original comic book series would never have managed.
Still, they didn't use Hitler. Not in the comics ads anyway.
Preacher returned to AMC for a third season starting June 24th for a further 10 episodes.
