Retailer Comments:
This week felt odd after the 3D madness. Felt like a 5th week in a month for comics product wise. DC fans are looking forward to when the new regular Batman, Constantine, and Superman Unchained titles arrive. Sold out of All New X Men 17 even after upping the order due to the crossover. The price increase to $3.99 for Action Comics did not slow sales down at all. It also sold out in two days much to my surprise. Solid start to the month.
Amazing Spiderman back issues are starting to look a little bare. Rumors of the Sinister Six being in an upcoming Spiderman film might be helping. Batman back issues are doing well. The Hush story arc is the most in demand of the series thanks to a certain Jim Lee. Superman back issues by Jim Lee sadly not so much even though he is currently drawing Superman Unchained. Thor back issues are starting to see a little love thanks to the upcoming movie.
Solid week considering the amount of titles. Forever Evil and The Star Wars both stayed strong sellers with a little drop off from #1 Picked up a decent collection of Bronze Age books so people picked those apart in the last week and stayed away from any one trend that could be determined.
A pretty dreary week, overall, with nobody very excited over anything, the main comment from customers being along the lines of "#24? That means the stupid villains junk is over, right?" Mind you, the return to a more normal schedule seems to have inspired them to top up their accounts, so that's nice. In fact every day this week (except Saturday Oct 5) was above average.
Due to a shipping error on Diamond's part we received a stack of Walking Dead V9(?) hardcovers a few weeks back, which haven't exactly been flying at full price, so this week, pending a "Please Return" notice, we dropped the price on them, and they've been moving very nicely. I'd rather make 2-3 bucks a piece rather than just box 'em up, return them, and just end up making UPS a bit richer.
