DC Comics Embossed Foil 90s Variants Covers Have A Price Problem

DC Comics is publishing embossed foil variant covers of some of their titles in a celebration of nineties comics cover excess. But what they also have done is introduced the same kind of uncertainty that those covers brought.

Retailers tell me that the foil covers of this week's Joker and Batman comic books have no price printed on them. Some retailers mistook the $5.99 price on the order form as the price of the comic book, instead it is the price that retailers were charged. No retail price has been listed for this comic, the Lunar Distribution site only says "Please Inquire". Copies have also been allocated by DC Comics, which means they may be a lot rarer than previously thought.

But the confusion has hit the marketplace, with some retailers selling them for, not just less than cover price, but less than the retailer may have paid for them. But, because of the confusion, they may not have realised what was happening. Until they did, and pulled the listings.

How many other retailers will fall foul of this glitch? And how many more customers will take advantage of it?
