Enrico Marini Creates An Exclusive Batman Graphic Novel For The French, Published By Dargaud

Well, this is new. One of the largest comic book publishers in the world, Dargaud, is commissioning and publishing a brand new Batman original graphic novel, by creator Enrico Marini, licensing the rights from DC Comics.

The book, as yet unnamed, will be published in two volumes, one in November 2017 and the second in the Spring of 2018.

Enrico Marini's original works sell hundreds of thousands, and it could potentially be the highest first print run a Batman project has had in quite some time. Known for his work on Scorpion and Les Aigles de Rome for Dargaud, this taps into Enrico's love for the character.

There is no news about any English language translation of the project. But you know, it will probably happen eventually. Until then, you may have to brush up on your francaise. Or be happy just to look at the very pretty pictures….

The PR quotes Enrico as saying "Batman has been my favorite Super Hero since my childhood. Having this opportunity to reinterpret his universe and to add my point of view is a great privilege" with DC co-publisher Jim Lee adding "We are thrilled to have Enrico Marini lend his outstanding vision and skills to the project that will bring an original Batman story to a broad European audience of DC fans."
