Hastings and Browne Relaunch Quantum & Woody at Valiant in 2020

Following a teaser sent out to media last week, Valiant Entertainment has officially announced plans to relaunch Quantum & Woody, with a new series debuting in January. Christopher Hastings will write, with Ryan Browne on art, Ruth Redmond on colors, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou on letters. David Nakayama, David Lopez, Dave Johnson, and Erica Henderson will provide the obligatory multiple variant covers for the series.

Valiant debuted the announcement via an EX-X-XCLUSIVE interview with Hastings and Browne on video game website IGN.

Said Hastings on how the new series will fit into continuity:

It's not a full on reboot, but it's not strictly captive to either continuity either. I think as Quantum & Woody have more and more creators adding to their myth, it's okay for the next guy — me — to shave off some of the specifics of certain bits of history, while remaining true to the larger truths of the characters and the world.

As to the tone, Hastings compared the characters to Deadpool and Harley Quinn, with Browne adding:

We gonna goof y'all and y'all gonna feel like y'all got supreme goof value. Just alls y'alls wait.

Look for the first issue in stores on January 29th, and check out some of the art below:
