Bleeding Cool has run reports on how the Mexican media conglomerate Televisa, the largest such company in Latin America, published both Marvel and DC comics in the country. The company is also a powerful political force, think News International in the UK and the US. But getting away with more.

And there has been much criticism of their translation and production work. Here a few examples still up from  Marvelando and the very Comic Mania Radio.

In the last few months they have printed pages twice, often at the cost of another page, making the books unreadable.

Also, if they have difficulty getting the original work to reprint, they have been using illegal scans. In one of the latest issues of The Amazing Spider-Man they printed the name of an "independent" translator, LUISWWX , who translates and distributes illegal scans in .cbz and .cbr format. He had photoshopped his name to the file as if he was part of the creative team, then these guys downloaded it and printed the page as an advert for the next issue.

Previously they had published issues of Old Man Logan using the work of another illegal translator/uploader. Ooh what a giveaway. But that's the thing about monopolies, they can pretty much do what they like…
