New Neil Gaiman Sandman Story Launches at San Diego Comic-Con for $750
Today sees the launch of the Sandman Masterpiece Edition Book Set at SDCC with only 25 copies for $750 each and a new story by Neil Gaiman.
Today sees the launch of the Sandman Masterpiece Edition Book Set at San Diego Comic-Con with only twenty-five copies at the DC Comics booth at for $750 each. Well, it will also include a brand new Neil Gaiman story, in the form of a series of letters.
As well as comprising six exclusive leather-bound, foil-embossed hardcovers with the full Sandman story and a custom sculpted book stand resembling Morpheus's helm,
These six volumes collect stories from the entire Sandman saga— including The Sandman #1-75, the comics and prose editions of The Sandman: The Dream Hunters, The Sandman: Endless Nights, and The Sandman: Overture. They are designed to fit into the carved book stand that features a detailed bone snout and riveted exterior.
Also included is a set of art prints from Michael Wm. Kaluta and an original piece of epistolary fiction from the world of The Sandman, written by Neil Gaiman himself, and exclusive to this set.
There will be a mass market, or at least a less limited edition, made available in November for a mere $500. And will look like this.
DC Comics will also be selling a special foil cover edition of Knight Terrors: First Blood #1, limited to 1000 copies and a special red spot foil cover edition of Knight Terrors: Batman #1, limited to 500 copies, for $20 each. A retro cover edition of World's Finest: Teen Titans #1, limited to 500 copies, for $15; a special Superman "Big Blue" Edition featuring a blue tone cover, limited to 1500 copies, for $10; a facsimile blank sketch cover variant of Batman #655, limited to 3000 copies, for $6.
There are also Silver Screen Editions of Batman #655, Booster Gold #1, Authority #1 and Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow #1, limited to 1,000 copies, will be sold for $15 each. Nightwing Vol. 1: Leaping Into the Light, limited to 250 copies, for $30; Batman by Grant Morrison Omnibus Vol. 1, limited to 100 copies, for $100; Poison Ivy Vol. 1: The Virtuous Cycle, featuring a special wraparound cover by Jenny Frison, limited to 250 copies, for $30.
The DC Shop booth will also be offering fans a limited inventory of three new Blue Beetle t-shirts, a "Dawn of DC" enamel pin, t-shirt and zip-front hoodie, t-shirts with new artwork commissioned from Bill Sienkiewicz, Jill Thompson, Eric Tan and Phantom City Creative, limited quantities of DC caps from 9Forty, a Gotham City Classics Batmobile Collector Pin Set featuring the 1966, 1989, 1992 and 1995 Batmobiles (along with a convention-exclusive mystery pin), and more.
