NYCC '15: Heavy Metal's 'Interceptor' Is Being Developed For A Film (EXCLUSIVE ART)
Heavy Metal's upcoming apocalyptic vampire comic story 'Interceptor', which was much discussed at San Diego Comic Con, written by Donny Cates, and illustrated by Dylan Burnett, was announced on The Hollywood Reporter today as being in film development. The first issue of the series lands in December, but Bleeding Cool already ran an interview on the comic, so never fear. Find that here.
The comic is going to be developed for the film treatment with Jeff Krelitz, David Boxenbaum, and Brian Witten as producers, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Donny Cates described the series to the Hollywood Reporter thus:
It's like this: Buffy in a mech suit lands in a Vampire Mad Max hell hole and unleashes a maelstrom of UV ballistics and neon and blood soaked destruction. Plus little kids with machine guns, robot spiders with laser gun turrets, Area 51 filled with vamp prisoners and alien tech, dog fights, space stuff, evil presidents! Immortal kings! Swords! Vampire punk bands! Did I mention huge mech suits!?!
Look out for Interceptor in December from Heavy Metal. Until then, here are some exclusive cover reveals and even interior art for the upcoming series:
