Pepe Larraz Draws Obelix And Everyone Just Loves It

Pepe Larraz posts "I drew #Obelix last year. With all the fuzz of Christmas I forgot to post it but I'm quite proud of this one."

Pepe Larraz posts to TwitterX, "I drew #Obelix last year. With all the fuzz of Christmas I forgot to post it but I'm quite proud of this one." A few other comic creators wished to share their thoughts. Ram V said, "The best." Marc Laming said, "I love this". Mike Collins added, "Fabulous!" Bengal went with "Love it!!" While I said, "These Spaniards are crazy… ly good at drawing."

Pepe Larraz studied the Artistic Baccalaureate at School No. 1 in Madrid, and later Art History at the Complutense University of Madrid. Working for fanzine and in advertising work, he began drawing comics for Marvel with New Avengers: Luke Cage in 2o10. After drawing X-Men comic books, he was picked by Jonathan Hickman in 2019 as the central artist to revive the X-Men franchise with House Of X. He still draws X-Men books, but took a sabbatical to draw Mark Millar's Big Game from Image Comics.

Obelix was created by Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo for the French/Belgian comic book series Asterix. He works as a menhir sculptor and deliveryman, and is Asterix's best friend in the Ancient Gaul village where they both live. He fell into a cauldron of the Gauls' magic potion when he was a baby, causing a permanent state of superhuman strength. A simplemindedness character with a love and care for his dog Dogmatix, he spends his spare time hunting and eating wild boars, and fighting Romans. His catchphrase "Ils sont fous ces romains" translates into "These Romans are crazy!" Hence my excellent joke, above. Obelix was portrayed by actor Gérard Depardieu in the Asterix live-action film until last year's Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom when Gilles Lellouche stepped into the role.

Any chance of a reissue of Obelix And Co with this as a variant cover? I would be first in line.
