Prints Charming – Hulk Gets Seconds, Loki Gets Thirds, Harley Gets Fourths

STK652228Consider this an irregular feature looking at comic books that have gone to second prints or more. Now, it is worth remembering that some publishers plan second prints automatically, whether they are needed or not and will often just run extra first print copies in the initial run, set them aside and put a second print cover on them. It can be a marketing strategy, showing that there is confidence in the performance of the book, get a headline or three and use it to persuade retailers to up their orders of subsequent books. And comics news reporting sites become implicit in that market distortion every time we run them as a story.

But hey ho, away we go. In for a penny…

Hulk #3 and #4 are getting second prints (one with a Daniel Opena cover, the other with a Mark Bagley cover).

Ahead of the Death Of Wolverine, Wolverine #8 is getting a second print with a Steve McNiven cover.

We know Figment #1 and #2 are getting second prints.

Loki: Agent Of Asgard #1 and #2 are going to third print.

Harley Quinn #2 is going to a fourth print.

And The Empty Man #1 gets a second print as does Harbinger #23.

The Wicked + The Divine #1 gets a second print as do Shutter #2 and #3.

However as we reported Trees #2 doesn't seem to be getting a second printing. Instead it's been made free digitally until the release of the second issue this week.
