American Vampire #9 Increases In Price As Vertigo Switches To $3.99

Vertigo Comics, as part of DC, is one of the last holdouts for the $2.99 price point. As even Image Comics have started to move towards $3.50, Archie Comics has jumped to $3.99 and Marvel are basically down to Ms. Marvel. And there are increasing signs that $4.99 will be upon us soon.

Well, it seems that Vertigo are saying sayonara to $2.99 as well.

The titles did experiment with $3.99 prices but, with in 2011 joined in with the other DC titles in reducing the page count of their monthly books to twenty pages of story for $2.99.

Well in June, that's done away with. American Vampire: Second Cycle #9 was originally solicited for May 2015 and listed at $2.99. Now it has been cancelled and resolicited for June 2015 at $3.99. Every other title previously listed as $2.99, such as Coffin Hill, Astro City, Effigy, and FBP moves from $2.99 to $3.99. That is, aside from Kitchen, on the last issue of it's 8 issue series.

So of July, expect everything to be $3.99 or more across the Vertigo board.

But don't expect a page increase from 20 pages, or the free digital code that Marvel offers at that price point….
