Antarctic Steampunk Girls Become Summer Girls – And More Ch-Ch-Changes
Has the bloom come off the copper-plated rose, where steampunk is concerned?
I only ask because the trademark-baiting Antarctic Press' Victorian Secret: Girls of Steampunk #1 has suddenly been retitled Victorian Secret: Girls of Summer #1. Which has a totally different vibe… and certainly less of those long flowing dresses.
The backup story in Action Comics #11 will no longer be by Brad Walker, but will now features art by CAFU.
While Steve Pugh is no longer drawing Animal Man #11, replaced by Alberto Ponticelli & Wayne Faucher.
Matt Fraction tweeted that Journey Into Mystery was still being written by Kieron Gillen (and beyond) despite the solicitation stating that it's by Matt Fraction and Alan Davis. The artist is also not Alan Davis, but Carmine Di Giandomenico. Diamond still seem to be insisting that Matt Fraction is involved as a co-writer to some degree though.
And, from the new DC solicits, note that Scott Kolins is indeed the new Legion Of Superheroes artist, but also that Dwayne Turner as replaced new Superman artist Kenneth Rocafort on Red Hood And The Outlaws, and that Tyler Kirkham is now the new artist on Teen Titans. Brett Booth says he'll be back on the book with issue 14… but I understand that Tyler thinks he's the new ongoing artist. Let's see how that washes out…
