Comic Artist Residency On Offer In Florida With Paul Pope, Craig Thompson and Svetlana ChmakovaOpportunities like this don't come along too often.

The Atlantic Centre For The Arts in Florida is offering a  residency as Associate Artist for a comic book creator in October, under master artists THB creator Paul Pope, Blankets author Craig Thompson or manga creator Svetlana Chmakova.

Yeah, I know. Wow.

Residencies typically give a space, resources, studios, equipment, materials and support to create their work, while also sharing the process with a wider audience. And from October 11th 31st, that's what the ACA is offering the right comic book creator.

Running from October 11th to the 31st, the programme includes board and lodgings though the lucky recipient towards that. But seriously, I can't stress what an important opportunity for anyone drawing comics this is.

If you're interested, pick the master artist you feel closest to, see their specific application requirements and fill in an application. International applications are welcome and the deadline is May 21st. Details can be found here.

a CV (listing all the jobs, not just art-related. To explain, I consider all jobs to be important creator experiences—the idea for one of my books hatched from the experience of sweeping floors and washing dishes at a small restaurant back in college)
