Comic-Themed ComicX Restaurant From Mexico Opens First Location in the USA
Mexico-based restaurant, bar and store ComicX has finally opened its first US location, in north Phoenix's Desert Ridge Marketplace. The chain was created in Hermosillo, Mexico in 2010 and now has 36 locations in Mexico. And one in the USA. A grand opening is being planned for early 2020.And they have already started looking for a second location in Arizona, with plans to expand through California, Nevada and Texas.
The restaurant feature 25 life-sized statues of comic book heroes and villains, movie memorabilia and souvenir collectables with documented serial numbers. Attractions include a bar-side R2-D2 at the bar, a Silver Surfer overhead. Other figures include Darth Vader, Jar Jar Binks, Iron Man, Rocket Raccoon, Batman, Batgirl, Joker, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Predator, Terminator, The Simpsons and Kung Fu Panda, to help fill out an 8,000-foot space. It has seating for more than 200 people, two outdoor patios, a Harry Potter-themed bar, a Star Wars-themed lounge, and diners can play games at Xbox and Wii video game stations inside the restaurant. Suspended near the mezzanine is a dragon whose eyes will illuminate. Also, near the entrance to the Star Wars-themed lounge will be a wall with projections on it.
Items on the menu include Wonder Wings, Lord of the Onion Rings, Supersonic Cheeseburgers, The Incredible Churro Bowl and Harry's Butter Beer. Cocktails include the Pop Rock Raccoon (Blanco Tequila, Blue Curacao, Pineapple Juice, & Lime Juice shaken and strained over ice in a glass rimmed with Tropical Punch Pop Rocks, topped with prosecco), the Storm Breaker (Dark Rum, Angostura Bitters, & lime juice topped with ginger beer) and The Incredibly Hammered (Rum, Hypnotiq, Midori, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, and Simple Syrup shaken and strained over ice with a curacao float…
