Diamond Previews Goes Digital – But You'll Still Have To Pay
I have had entertaining conversations with people who are amazed that the comics industry gets comics fans to pay for Previews, a catalogue that they can then order their comics from. It's certainly a rare business model, but there's no doubting the heft and weight of the 400 page plus physical Previews takes a lot to ship around the world.
But what about a digital Previews?
Starting with the April 2013 issue, customers can buy the print version from their local shop, or buy the code to download a digital version either instore or from their store's website. Or choose a combo print-and-digital package.
A print version, including Marvel Previews still costs $4.50. The digital version will cost $3.99. And the combo version will cost $5.49. Previews back issues from August 2012 will also be available.
It's a novel model, certainly. And it will have its critics. But, for Diamond Previews, it's a first step…
