Is this Moonstone and Phantom all over again? Until yesterday Ardden Entertainment believed that they had the Flash Gordon licence for comic books. Then Bleeding Cool ran the story that Dynamite Entertainment were to publish a Flash Gordon book, along with Mandrake The Magician and existing licence The Phantom. And that there was the possibility of a Defenders Of The Earth book to boot.

Ardden sent out a press release that's full of barely suppressed anger. As well as announcing a new Flash Gordon series, Invasion Of The Red Sword, Ardden exec Brendan Deneen is quoted as saying;

 "Like everyone else," Deneen added, "I've heard about Dynamite's plans to launch their own FLASH GORDON series. I look forward to some healthy competition. I hope they're ready, too."
