George Romero Rewrites Night Of The Living Dead In His New Marvel Comic
Night If The Living Dead, the first zombie movie, was made in 1968 by George Romero. It made his career.
Forty-five years later, he has written Empire Of The Dead, out from Marvel today. But in doing so he has gone back in time and rewritten the script of Night Of The Living Dead, as recounted by the sister of the character Babra, originally played by Judith O'Dea.
Take that first scene when the "ghoul" attacks Babra's brother in the graveyard.
Well, that's what we get here as the colour scheme shifts to black and white. And so it continues…
However, the comic version does take a different twist, and in more in line with George Romero's treatment of zombies sometimes taking on aspects of their previous lives to alter their behaviour…
