HMV To Close Sixty Stores In UK
HMV is a popular high street multi-media chain that seemed to survive a market that has seen the departure of the likes of Woolworths, Tower Records, Zavvi and Virgin Megastore. It also owns the Waterstones chain of bookstores, that has survived in a market despire the departure of Borders UK.
Now HMV is to close sixty stores nationally out of four hundred stores, after reporting a Christmas slump in sales of 14% year on year and admitting it is having trouble meeting the terms of a bank loan.
HMV and Waterstones both sell a large amount of graphic novels, with special prominence presence for Titan Books, who republish and redistribute DC Comics in the UK.
Games Workshop also happens to be on the skids…
